Onduline HR Tile Underlayment Sheet Red (0.95m x 2m)
Provides robust, long-lasting waterproofing under roof tiles for
The Onduline HR Tile Underlayment Sheet Red (0.95m x 2m) provides an excellent secondary waterproofing and support system for your roof, installed beneath the tiles. These High Resistance (HR) bitumen-impregnated fiber sheets are specifically designed to offer long-lasting protection on tiled roofs. Compared to traditional roofing solutions, their faster and easier application saves both time and labor costs.
While its red color complements the overall aesthetic of your roof, its special breathable structure prevents moisture accumulation. Onduline HR sheets exhibit superior resistance to various weather conditions, forming an effective barrier against rain, snow, wind, and UV rays. Furthermore, their flexible structure enhances your roof's lifespan by resisting impacts and structural movements.
This product can be safely used in new roof installations or renovation projects for existing roofs. With Onduline quality and durability, your roof will remain secure and dry for many years. Onduline HR sheets, also notable for their environmentally friendly production processes, represent a sustainable building material option.

- Pitched Roofs: As a secondary waterproofing layer under all types of roof tiles (Marseille, Alaturka, Concrete, etc.).
- New Roof Constructions: In roofing systems for all newly built residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Roof Renovation and Repair Projects: For strengthening and renewing insulation on existing aged or damaged tiled roofs.
- Timber Frame Roofs: Especially for roofs constructed on timber frames, to provide both waterproofing and contribute to load distribution.
- Garage and Warehouse Roofs: For structures like garages, warehouses, or outbuildings seeking a more economical and durable under-roof solution.
- Aesthetic and Functional Solutions: In all projects aiming for long-lasting and trouble-free roof performance, while its red color contributes to the overall appearance of the roof.
- Roof Preparation: Ensure the roof surface to be applied is clean, dry, smooth, and structurally sound. Remove any old coverings or loose debris if necessary. The roof slope should be at least 10%.
- First Row Placement: Sheets are laid starting from the eaves, parallel to the valley. Ensure the first row of sheets sits neatly along the eave line.
- Fixing: Each sheet should be fixed to wooden battens or a concrete surface with special Onduline nails or suitable screws. Generally, at least 5-7 fastening points per square meter, with one nail per corrugation, are recommended.
- Overlapping: Sheets should be overlapped by 10 cm sideways and 15-20 cm upwards, depending on the roof slope. Ensure overlapping lines are done considering the water flow direction.
- Cutting and Shaping: Sheets can be easily cut with a sharp utility knife or circular saw and shaped according to roof details (chimney, ventilation, ridge, etc.).
- Ridge and Valley Details: Special Onduline ridge elements or appropriate detail solutions should be used for ridges and valleys. Ensure adequate ventilation is provided.
- Tile Placement: After the Onduline HR sheets are fully applied and fixed, the roof covering process is completed by laying the tiles over them.
- Storage: Sheets should be stored away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, on a flat surface, in a dry and ventilated environment. Avoid storing them upright.
- Handling and Transport: Be careful to prevent bending or breaking the sheets during transport. Avoid impacting or dropping their corners.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and appropriate work shoes should be worn during application.
- During Cutting: Be cautious when cutting sheets as sharp tools are used. Avoid inhaling dust generated during cutting.
- Fire Safety: The product is flammable. Keep away from open flames, sparks, and high temperatures. Exercise extra caution when using heat-emitting tools like welding equipment or hot air guns.
- Ventilation: If applying in enclosed spaces, adequate ventilation must be provided.
- Surface Preparation: Sheets should only be applied to clean, dry, solid surfaces free from oil and dust.
- Slope Limitation: The product is designed for roofs with a minimum slope of 10%. Additional insulation measures may be required for roofs with lower slopes.
