Economical and Reliable Indoor Ceramic Solution

Kalekim 1051 Tile Adhesive is a cement-based, standard performance (C1 class) adhesive with reduced slip (T class), used for bonding ceramic, tile, mosaic, and similar coverings to cement-based surfaces such as concrete, screed, and plaster in indoor environments. Manufactured in compliance with TS EN 12004+A1 standards, it offers a budget-friendly solution with its economical price.

It can be safely used, especially in dry and humid indoor areas of residences such as bathrooms, kitchens, and corridors. While providing high adhesion strength on the applied surface, its non-slip feature offers ease and safety in vertical applications. With its practical preparation and application process, it facilitates the work of both professionals and individual users.

  • Standard: TS EN 12004+A1, C1T
  • Adhesive Type: Cement-based
  • Appearance: Grey or White powder
  • Application Temperature: +5°C to +35°C
  • Mixing Ratio: 6-7 liters water / 25 kg powder
  • Pot Life: Approximately 6 hours
  • Open Time: Approximately 20 minutes
  • Slip (T): ≤ 0.5 mm
  • Tensile Adhesion Strength (C1): ≥ 0.5 N/mm² (after 28 days)
  • Application Thickness: 3-6 mm
  • Consumption: Average 3-5 kg/m² (depending on surface evenness and trowel size)
  • Grouting Time: Approximately 24 hours later
  • Foot Traffic: Approximately 24 hours later
  • Full Cure: 28 days
  • For ceramic, tile, mosaic, and similar applications on interior walls and floors of residential buildings.
  • In dry and humid indoor areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets, on cement-based plaster, screed, and concrete surfaces.
  • Ideal for bonding small and medium-sized ceramics.
  • Safely used on indoor floors subjected to normal loads and in vertical applications.
  • Suitable for ceramic applications on plasterboard with the use of a primer (with an appropriate primer).
  1. Surface Preparation: The application surface must be free from adhesion-preventing residues such as dust, dirt, and oil, and must be sound, dry, and load-bearing. Cracks and voids on the surface should be filled with appropriate repair mortar. Absorbent surfaces should be moistened.
  2. Mortar Preparation: 25 kg of Kalekim 1051 powder should be mixed with 6-7 liters of clean water until a lump-free consistency is achieved. Mixing should be done with a low-speed mixer, rested for 5 minutes, and then mixed again.
  3. Adhesive Application: The prepared mortar should be spread evenly on the surface with a suitable notched trowel (e.g., 6x6x6 mm) and combed with the notched side.
  4. Tile Laying: Tiles should be placed by pressing them onto the surface within the open time (approximately 20 minutes) after the adhesive has been applied, and full contact should be ensured by gently tapping with a rubber hammer. Grout joints should be left between tiles.
  5. Grouting: After the bonding process is complete and the mortar has cured (approximately 24 hours later), grouting can be performed with an appropriate Kalekim grout.
  • Since the product is cement-based, avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash with plenty of water and consult a doctor if necessary.
  • Wear appropriate workwear, gloves, and safety glasses during application.
  • Adhere to the specified water ratio for mortar preparation. Excessive water can adversely affect the adhesive's strength and slip resistance.
  • Do not lay tiles on adhesive that has exceeded its open time. In such cases, scrape off the old adhesive and apply new.
  • Do not apply on frozen, thawing, or temperatures below 5°C. Pay attention to surface and ambient temperatures.
  • Avoid applying on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight or strong winds, or take necessary precautions.
  • Clean tools with water immediately after application. Dried mortar can only be removed by mechanical means.
  • Store unopened packages in a dry and cool environment throughout their shelf life.

Sık Sorulan Sorular

Kalekim 1051 is ideal for bonding covering materials such as ceramics, tiles, and mosaics to cement-based surfaces like concrete, screed, and plaster in interior spaces. It can be safely used, especially on interior walls and floors of residences.

No, Kalekim 1051 Tile Adhesive is formulated for indoor use. It is not resistant to outdoor conditions (extreme temperature differences, freeze-thaw cycles, continuous exposure to moisture). For outdoor applications, Kalekim's higher-performance exterior adhesives should be preferred.

The consumption of Kalekim 1051 varies depending on the surface evenness and the size of the trowel used. On average, one 25 kg bag can cover an area of 5-8 square meters. For more detailed information, please refer to the technical specifications table.

After application, it can be walked on and grouted approximately 24 hours later. It reaches full strength and complete cure in 28 days. These times may vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity.

Kalekim 1051 is an economical and reliable solution for indoor ceramic applications. Its non-slip (T class) feature provides ease in vertical applications, while its high adhesion strength offers long-lasting bonding. It is ideal for your budget-friendly projects with Kalekim quality and assurance.

Kalekim 1051 is a C1T class standard-performance adhesive with reduced slip. It stands out for its economical price and offers sufficient performance for basic indoor applications. For applications requiring higher performance (flexible, waterproof, outdoor, etc.), Kalekim offers higher-grade products.

It is crucial to adhere to the specified water ratio (6-7 liters of water for 25 kg of powder) when preparing the mortar. To achieve a lump-free and homogeneous mixture, you should use a low-speed mixer and re-mix the mortar after letting it rest for 5 minutes. Excessive water reduces the adhesive's performance.

It is suitable for traditional ceramic, tile, and mosaic types with normal absorbency. For low-absorbency materials like porcelain tiles or glass mosaics, it is recommended to use higher-performance, flexible adhesives.

The open time is the maximum duration (approximately 20 minutes) after the adhesive is applied to the surface during which the tile can be laid. If this time is exceeded, the adhesive's bonding property decreases. Adhering to this period is crucial for a quality and durable bond.

You should store the product in its original packaging, in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight. Protect it from moisture and frost. Opened packages should be consumed as soon as possible or sealed airtight.
