AREAS OF APPLICATION

• Positive waterproofing on walls and floors: Effectively protects structural elements against water.

Surface Preparation

Before starting the application, all surfaces must be completely cleaned of oil, dust, dirt, and any foreign materials that could reduce adhesion. Surfaces should be clean and slightly moist. Oil, dirt, rust, or any adhesion-reducing substances must be removed.

If there are areas with segregation, voids, cracks, or sections requiring repair, these should first be filled with ISONEM M 03 Elastic Repair Mortar to strengthen the surface. For surfaces where adhesion might be problematic or there is a risk of poor bonding, apply ISONEM D 10 LATEX primer before waterproofing. The waterproofing application should proceed while the primer is still slightly tacky, before it is completely dry.

Mixing Instructions

ISONEM MD 28 is a two-component product:

• Component A: Powder polymer with hardener (20 kg)

• Component B: Liquid polymer (10 kg)

1. Pour the liquid B component into a clean, appropriately sized container.

2. While continuously mixing with a mechanical mixer, gradually add the powder A component.

3. Mix for approximately 5 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous and free of lumps.

4. The final mixture should have a consistency suitable for brush application.

Application Method

1. Apply ISONEM MD 28 in three coats. Each coat should be applied in perpendicular directions using a brush for uniform coverage.

2. The wet film thickness of a single coat must not exceed 1 mm.

3. Allow at least 4 hours between coats. Do not wait more than 24 hours between coats.

4. Avoid applying in extremely hot or freezing conditions. Preferably, apply during the cooler parts of the day (early morning or evening).

5. For chamfer or joint details, it is recommended to use joint mesh to increase strength.

6. Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after application.

Consumption

• 2 – 3 kg/m² (for three-coat application)

• 1 set covers approximately 10 – 15 m², depending on surface conditions.

Shelf Life
