AREAS OF USE

• Provides strong waterproofing on foundations, retaining walls, and basement exterior walls.

• Can be safely applied on old or new terraces and roofs, with or without coverings.

• Ensures excellent adhesion for the waterproofing of surfaces previously coated with bitumen or tar.

• Offers high bonding strength on membranes or for membrane repairs.

• Provides effective waterproofing and durability in roof gutters.

• Can be safely applied on various surfaces such as concrete pipes, brick, wood, zinc, and aerated concrete.

• Protects underground concrete surfaces from corrosion and moisture-related damage.

Surface Preparation

The surfaces to be treated should be dry or slightly damp. Do not use in areas where waterproofing is applied on the negative side or on substructures with efflorescence. Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned from all loose particles, dirt, rust, mud, and similar substances.

Depressions, segregations, holes, or cracks should be repaired beforehand using ISONEM D10 LATEX and ISONEM M03 elastic mortar. If the surface has expansion joints, they should be pre-treated with ISONEM A4 elastic filler for joint waterproofing.

For primer application, ISONEM BE 89 should be diluted 1:1 with water and worked thoroughly into the surface using a stiff brush. Application should proceed only after the primer has fully dried. On terraces and roofs, it is recommended to apply a 3 cm chamfer at wall and parapet bases. In these applications, it is also suggested to embed 45 g/m² reinforcement mesh together with the coating. For basement walls or foundations, reinforcement mesh is not required.

Application Method

ISONEM BE 89 is ready to use but should be homogenized before application. After priming, it is applied to the surface in 2–3 coats using a brush or roller. Allow each coat to dry, and apply each subsequent coat perpendicular to the previous one.

On terraces, roofs, or surfaces with a high risk of cracking, it is recommended to use 45 g/m² reinforcement mesh between coats. Avoid application in extreme heat or freezing conditions. For summer applications, the cool hours of morning or evening are preferred.

Ensure that roofs have proper and sufficient slope for drainage. Adequate water outlets must be provided, and ponding water must be avoided. For chamfer details, it is recommended to use joint mesh together with the coating.

CONSUMPTION

• For a three-coat application: 1 – 1.5 kg/m²

Available in 5 kg, 10 kg, and 18 kg PP buckets

SHELF LIFE
When stored in original, unopened, and undamaged packaging under suitable conditions, the product is usable for 24 months from the production date.

STORAGE
Store the product in a dry and cool environment. Ensure that the container lids are tightly closed during storage.
